Alex Reilly Fundraiser 8 December 2017

Join us and our inspirational guest speaker, Cantabrian and Christchurch Boys’ High School old boy, Jake Bailey, as we raise funds for Alex Reilly.

Up until January 2016 Alex was a healthy energetic 15 year old doing all the things parents love seeing their kids do. He was throwing a good effort at his schoolwork, playing sport, had an afterschool job and might have even been known to tidy his room occasionally.

Out of the blue, in January, he was struck down by Guillain Barre syndrome. He was on a ventilator for 5 months, unable to speak, move or breathe on his own.  Alex was eventually transferred to Burwood Spinal Unit. He now breathes on his own and can speak again but remains paralyzed from the chest down.

But here’s the thing, there is very little financial support for non-ACC patients in this situation and Guillain Barre syndrome is an illness not an accident.

Ticket price includes a scrumptious two course dinner and complimentary beverage on arrival.  There will be an amazing charity auction and live music.
