Tuesday 8 November 2022 – IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day
How do I purchase tickets?
Tickets can be purchased by visiting IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day.
What time do the gates open, and what is the best entrance to use?
Gates open at 11am. Access for General Admission, Bacardi on the Green and Punters Lounge is via the main entrance at Christchurch Arena where your ticket will be scanned.
What time is the first race?
12noon and the IRT NZ Trotting Cup is at 5.36pm. For the list of races please visit Harness Racing New Zealand website here.
Can I bring my car? Is there parking on site?
Yes. There are two public car parks and parking staff will be on-site to direct you. Click here to view the map. There is no charge for car parking, however with IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day being a major event, on-site parking is limited.
Free Buses
There will be free buses outside Orangetheory Stadium from 5.45pm going to Christchurch Casino, Fat Eddies and Original Sin.
Where can I get a Racebook? Do they cost?
Our charity partner St John will have roaming volunteers selling the racebooks. These cost $10 and may be purchased using Wayver or cash. Racebooks and pens are also available for sale at the Info Booth.
What is Wayver
Wayver is a cashless way to pay for goods and services and will be in use in the ZM Public Village, Bacardi on the Lawn, Punters Lounge, Owners Marquee, Members Areas and Emerson’s Village.
How does Wayver work?
When you arrive at Addington and have had your ticket scanned, you will be given a Wayver wristband (the colour will depend on what ticket you have purchased).
Your Wayver wristband will be needed for all food and beverage purchases. Wayver or cash can be used for racebooks, Cup pins and placing a bet. If you are lucky enough to have a collect you will have the choice of having your winnings paid to your Wayver wristband or in cash.
Note, if you are in Emerson’s Village, Wayver wristbands will be available at the collection point next to the bar in the marquee village. Please collect these from the collection point in the centre track.
Other hospitality guests have no need for a Wayver wristband, unless you wish to be in the Public Village and purchase food and beverages.
How do I put money on my wristband?
There is a Wayver tent at the main entrance and at various spots around the racecourse. Simply use your credit card / EFTPOS card / or cash and this will be loaded onto your wristband. There is a time activation fee of $3.50. You may be asked for age verification.
When making a purchase your wristband will be scanned and the amount deducted.
If you find you have run out of money, simply visit one of the sites and reload.
