Covid-19 – Delta Level 2

ADDINGTON RACEWAY IS CURRENTLY AT delta LEVEL 2

Following the announcement from the New Zealand Government, the Canterbury region is now at Delta Level 2 at midnight Tuesday 7 September.

Addington Raceway are taking the matter very seriously. Our main priority is the safety and health of our staff, the racing industry, our clients and our business.

Addington Cup Week – TICKET UPDATE

IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup Day tickets to The Edge Public Village, Lindauer Lawn, and Punters Lounge, plus Show Day tickets to Spectators Bar, will go on sale the week beginning 27 September. This is dependent on the next Government announcement on the 20 September, outlining Level changes and what Level 1 will look like.

The new Level 1 or Level 2 Delta restrictions change how we will proceed with Addington Cup Week. With the uncertainty around what these new levels may look like, we need more clarity on mass gatherings for our team working on Cup Week plans and the Alert Level restrictions. We will communicate this on the 23 September ready for sales the week after.

Hospitality Packages
Please note that we are still taking hospitality bookings, however we will be holding off any further invoicing until we are in Level 1. With the uncertainty around what the new Level 1 Delta may look like, we need more clarity on mass gatherings. If you would like to see the hospitality packages available please click here.

If Cup Week cannot proceed due to Covid, everyone that has already paid for their general admission tickets or hospitality packages will be entitled to a full refund as per our terms and conditions – Circumstances Beyond our Reasonable Control.

This year, more than ever, we are hoping to bring you two amazing race days. We thank you for your patience as we try and navigate our way through these uncertain times and will keep you updated as we move Alert Levels. In the meantime, make sure you are following our social pages to keep up to date. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

Racing

Following the Government’s announcement yesterday, the Canterbury region has moved from Alert Level 3 to Delta Alert Level 2.  This means under Delta Alert Level 2 guidelines we can welcome back Owners with horses engaged in a race meeting. Unfortunately, this does not extend to Members or the general public.

Owners
If your horse is racing on Friday, you will need to register your attendance. Further instructions on how to register will be sent prior to the meeting from the Racing Department.

Owners will be allowed access to the IRT Stables.  Food will be available to purchase using contactless payment methods at the IRT Stables BBQ. Cash payments will not be available.

The Breckon’s Winners Bar, Presentation Area and Seating Bowl will not be open and winning photos will be sent to the winning connections on Monday 13 September.

There are no tote operators on-site or self-service-terminals. Online betting only.

Addington Raceway is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment.  Everyone coming on site must sign in using the Covid Contact Tracing App or the visitors register and the wearing of a face mask is mandatory at all times.  We thank you in advance for your understanding and please remember to be kind to our staff, who will also be navigating their way around these new requirements.

If you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or experiencing a change in your sense of smell you should not attend the race meetings.

We apologise for any inconvenience to our loyal Members and supporters and will continue to keep you informed as information becomes available during this complex situation.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the racing department racing@addington.co.nz
