The opening race on Plumbers’ Night at Addington this Friday features a number of runners on the verge of open company. Tyron Eros was first-up last week for the first time since October, resuming with a fast-finishing fourth behind Playoffs in his first appearance for the Gerard O’Reilly stable. The former Group 1 winner should improve significantly off that run but faces stiff opposition, with the improving Zoltan Boscik (10m) drawn ahead of him and Tarragindi off 30m. The latter has won his last two for trainer Phil Williamson and will again have the services of Oliver Kite, who has driven him in both victories. Zoltan Boscik, meanwhile, has impressed since joining the Bob Butt stable and will again be driven by his trainer.

The Aqualine Plumbing Pipe Line Sprint Handicap Pace gives Mo’unga another chance to shine following an impressive victory over race rival Renegade a fortnight ago. He finds himself a further 10 metres back at 50m, but with only five rivals and his ability to begin quickly, he remains the horse to beat. Renegade (25m) is third-up in this campaign and looks ready to peak, with a safe beginning likely to see him in the finish, while the southern pair of Da Vinci (25m) and Dreams Are Free (35m) must also be respected.
