The NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club (NZMTC) is a Harness Racing Club entrenched in history and hosts some of NZ’s most prestigious races. The club races approximately 60 times in a season, and some of the feature races each season include the IRT NZ Trotting Cup, Sires Stakes Final, Dominion Trot, NZ Free-For-All, NZ Oaks and the NZ Pacing Derby.

We strive to offer our members an entertaining experience every time they come on course and our members are offered giveaways and a free drink at every NZMTC race meeting (excluding IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day and the Show Day Races).

On the second week in November, Canterbury comes alive with the colour and thrill of Addington Cup Week. NZMTC members enjoy access to areas exclusively for their use and enjoyment during IRT NZ Trotting Cup Day* (Tuesday 9 November) and the Show Day Races (Friday 12 November).
